Dutch Minister for Economic Affairs, Mrs M.J.A. van der Hoeven accompanied by Mister Muhammad Lutfi, Chairman, Indonesia Investment Coordination Board (BKPM) visited Vopak Terminal Jakarta. The joint venture between PT AKR Corporindo Tbk and Vopak is constructing a modern petroleum storage terminal in Tanjung Priok Jakarta. PT AKR Corporindo Tbk is Indonesia's leading energy and chemicals distributor. The tank terminal will be one of the key logistics infrastructures in the Jakarta port.
During the visit minister Van der Hoeven and mister Lutfi were updated on the salient features of the tank terminal which is being built to international safety standards by Mister Jan van den Blink, President Director of the Vopak Terminal Jakarta.
The visitors were also informed by Mister Haryanto Adikoesoemo, President Director, PT AKR Corporindo Tbk about the considerable interest from local and foreign oil companies to utilize this strategically located tank terminal. The terminal, when completed, will be one of the largest private sector petroleum tank terminals in the region. The first phase of 250,000 cbm is scheduled to be commissioned by the fourth quarter 2009.
